Itinerary

Start – 11:30 a.m. (Regocijo Square)

  • The Inti Raymi tour takes place on June 24th. The experience begins around 11:30 a.m. when we gather at Regocijo Square (located just a few steps from the Main Square). Afterwards, the visitor will be guided by the professional tour guide to the tourist transport that will take them (a 30-minute trip) to the Sacsayhuamán fortress.
  • The tour guide will provide each visitor with a ‘box lunch’ that includes a starter, main course, snacks, drinks, and candies. Everything is prepared with healthy ingredients and the best Cusco-style seasoning to enjoy the show in comfort.
  • Afterwards, the group will enter Sacsayhuamán and take their respective seats (choose a red, green, or orange seat). Once comfortably seated, there will be free time to have lunch before the show begins.

Inti Raymi Show – 2:00 p.m. (Sacsayhuamán)

  • The Inti Raymi show at Sacsayhuamán is the main event. It starts at 2:00 p.m. and lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. During the entire show, visitors will hear the tour guide’s explanation of the interpretation performed during the Sun Festival (Inti Raymi).
  • The show features the participation of over 500 actors and actresses. During the ceremony, you’ll witness the Inca performing the chicha ritual (a fermented corn drink used during Inca times), the fire ritual (a symbol of purity and protection), and the ritualistic reading of the coca leaf (a ceremony predicting prosperity). You’ll also see a dramatization of the sacrifice of a black llama in honor of the Sun god. The show ends around 4:30 p.m.

End – 5:30 p.m. (Regocijo Square)

  • Finally, the group will reunite to board the tourist transport that will take them back to the center of Cusco (Regocijo Square), where the tour ends around 5:30 p.m.
